Nov. 13th, 2016 12:00 amMitahk comes from the same world as Shal Gurdn. The difference being that Mitahk doesn't come from a noble family, and hence isn't allowed to practice Elemental Magic. With fiery red hair, Mitahk hails from Ramha, born to a clan of traders/merchants, his father (Radras Rathka) being the clan head. So while he isn't of noble birth, his heritage makes him rather important. Think of him as being a rank lower than nobles, but above commoners.
His mother (Taniz) died while giving birth to him, indirectly creating a strife between Mitakh and his father, who blamed him for the death of his wife, despite knowing it's not the child's fault. So instead, Mitahk grows up under the care of his maternal grandfather (Raza) and learning the tricks of the trades from the old man. By the age of fourteen, Mitahk has built himself a moderate trading business to sustain himself, more so after the death of his grandfather. At sixteen, he decides to join a small troupe of passing archaeologists, staying with them for about 3-4 years before striking out on his own, becoming a strange mix of treasure hunter and trader.
Mitahk has the attention span of a... goldfish? Gnat? Puppy? In short, Mitahk has a short attention span. Pun not intended. More accurately, his thinks and does things in many places at once, his mind flitting from one matter to the other at the snap of a finger. It’s the one reason why he has a hard time getting his father’s recognition, believing Mitahk to never have any accomplishments as well as being a good-for-nothing child. In his life, Mitahk has never resent his father, although the same can’t be said for the older man. As time goes by, he learns to accept the fact that his father will never recognise him, and instead decides to live for himself than for anyone else.
Mitahk is also thrill seeker, always curious and wanting to discover about the unknown. It helps that he's a good multi-tasker as well, although he has a tendency to lose interest in certain tasks if it bores him too much. More often than not, his treasure hunting excavations are abandoned because he deems it not exciting enough, or the items discovered don’t meet his expectations. Going on treasure hunts is one way for Mitahk to prove to himself that he can do things well, and as a good way to support his livings without the help of his father.
At times, Mitahk can also be rather brash and impulsive, which is a definite recipe for disaster with the kind of attention span he has. He’s straightforward when he sees a need for it, sometimes to the point of being awfully blunt. But deep down, he has a kind heart, although his words seldom reflect his true feelings. In short, Mitahk can do his work well when he puts his mind to it. Just don't put too much hope on him. Unless he’s given a really good incentive to finish the tasks started or given.
